So training is underway! I decided to go out in my lunch break from work and go for a 5 mile walk. I set out from a point 5 miles from home and made the effort to get home in two hours and set a really good pace however, after just 1 mile could feel a blister coming on my left foot! I kept going for another mile and then stopped at a point where the road crossed my path and took off both trainers and put on blister plasters on both feet (it wasn't enough) and carried on.

By the 3rd mile I had to stop and call for transportation home, however I was quite pleased with the time as it took me 45 minutes to do the 3 miles when in reality we are looking at an hour to do 3 miles. So speed is not an issue it's more endurance, however it's not a bad start (apart from the blister).
