Monday 9th June - Day 3

For day three we were down to 2 of us as Tom‘s feet were covered in blisters to the extent that our support car (Fran) had to spend the whole day at Redruth hospital having blisters professionally cut away and antibiotics administered with feet bandaged up. Mark and Andy set out from St Austell, headed out north towards Bodmin and a few miles south of Bodmin picked up the Saints Way towards Padstow and followed that with roads then lanes and tracks and then fields.

Sunday 8th June - Day 2

After a slightly painful night sleep, we set out the next morning at 5:30 from our hotel in Camborne and headed into Redruth and on towards St Austell. We made good progress through Redruth which was right next to us and emerged from Redruth, heading out into the countryside and down into Truro just as it was waking up.

2 Days To Go - Facebook Horror Post

FOOTBALL LEGENDS: SURVIVAL IN SILENCE227 Miles. No Applause. No Return. They said it was just a walk. They lied.⸻The dust never settles. Not out there—on that godforsaken path stretching from the fractured cliffs of Land’s End to the forgotten bones of Somerdale Pavilion. A trail where even the wind forgets your name. Three men dared to cross it. Mark, Tom, and Andy. You might’ve seen them once—faces you forget in a crowd. But you won’t forget them now.Not after what they are about to face. Not after what followed.⸻There are no crowds here. No cheering fans. No game-day whistles or floodlights to chase away the dark. Just eight days, stretched and warped by pain, echoing with the sounds of boots scraping gravel—and something else. Something just out of sight. Hunger. Hallucination. The gnawing dread that maybe this path wasn’t meant to be walked at all. Each step? A battle. Each mile? A reckoning. They carry no weapons. Only purpose. Not glory. Not victory.Just the desperate, aching cause of Children's Hospice South West… and the fragile dreams of the Fry Club Juniors—echoes of laughter and life that cling to their backs like shadows. But shadows don’t always stay behind you.Sometimes, they follow.⸻The true enemy? It isn’t the terrain. It’s what the silence brings.Blisters fester. Knees buckle. And as the towns grow sparse, so do the voices. The men stop speaking, not from exhaustion—but because the stillness demands it. Something watches. Or maybe it’s just in their heads. Doubt takes form out here—whispering through fog, wearing the faces of regret, of failure, of every child they walk for, asking:“Will you make it?”And sometimes:“Is it worth it?”⸻They call it “Football Legends.”But by the third night, there won’t be legends. Only survivors. What begins as a tribute becomes a trial. No maps can warn them of the inner terrain. Of the hallucinations. Of the fractures in their own will. Of how, in the dead spaces between towns, you meet the truest version of yourself—and pray you don’t come to hate what you see.Because this road? It strips you.Not just of comfort. But of pretense.⸻🔻 WHAT KEEPS THEM GOING?Not a crowd. Not a goal. But the moment they turn to each other in the dark and say nothing. Because there are no words left—and that silence is the only thing keeping the demons at bay, and the thought of the children they can save.https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/andrew-glover-2⸻So no, this isn’t a walk. It’s not even a mission. It’s a survival story carved into tired muscles and worn-out boots. A horror tale wrapped in grit and compassion. A relentless crawl toward light, dragging hope behind them like a dying torch. They walk so others don’t have to.They suffer so others might smile. And if they reach the end?It won’t be with cheers.Just breathless silence—and the quiet knowledge that some monsters were outrun… but not all.⸻💀 Footy Legends: Survival in SilenceWalk the path—if you dare.https://www.le2sp.com/#LE2SP #FootyLegends #TrailOfDread #WalkForTheLiving #SurvivalInSilence

3 Days To Go - Facebook Western Post

🪶 “FOOTBALL LEGENDS: MISSION IN MOTION” — A LONG WALK THROUGH DUST, GRIT, AND GRITTY DETERMINATION 🤠No saloon. No saddle. Just 227 miles of purpose. Now gather ’round, folks, and lend an ear — for this ain’t your average tale of spurs and shootouts. Football Legends: Mission in Motion moseys into the wide-open plains of our hearts like a band of dusty drifters with one hell of a reason to ride. No bullets. No bad guys in black hats. Just three fellas with boots laced tight, eyes set firm, and a mighty cause on their backs.Mark, Tom, and Andy — three regular cowhands of the modern sort — set off from the wild edge of Land’s End in just three days, draggin’ their tired souls all the way to the gates of Somerdale Pavilion. That’s 227 miles, give or take a few hoofbeats. And make no mistake — this ain’t no Sunday stroll through prairie grass. It’s eight sun-baked days of sore bones, worn soles, and reckonings with their own limits. But they ain’t walkin’ for glory. No sir. They’re pushin’ forward for a finer prize — supportin’ Children's Hospice South West and sowin’ seeds of hope in the hearts of young’uns over at Fry Club Juniors. No medals wait at the finish line. No brass band playin’ ’em in. Just the quiet thunder of purpose and the steady beat of boots on earth. The Stakes? As human as a campfire story. The Antagonists? Blisters, fatigue, and that ornery old buzzard named Doubt. The Heroes? Men you might pass in town — but with grit enough to fill a canyon. This ain’t no showy spectacle lookin’ for curtain calls. It’s a walk that earns your respect, mile by blisterin’ mile. Every step’s a defiance against quittin’, every breath a testament to the folks countin’ on ’em. They ain’t playin’ for points — they’re walkin’ for somethin’ real: kids, families, futures.🌄 Standout Moment: The hush between towns — where the only sound is the wind and the weight of purpose. That’s where the real story hunkers down, quiet and true.Ain’t no props but boots and sweat-stained shirts. Ain’t no stage but the long road ahead. And yet, it tells a tale bigger than any football match — ’bout why the game matters, and how spirit can travel farther than any pass ever thrown. So don’t just tip your hat and ride on by.Stand up. Walk with ’em — in heart if not in heel.https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/andrew-glover-2Because Footy Legends ain’t just a trek. It’s a dusty hymn of hope.A march through hardship.https://www.le2sp.com/And the truest performance these plains have seen in a long while.🎟️ Saddle up. 4 Days To Go - Facebook Theatre Review Post

🎭 REVIEW: “FOOTY LEGENDS: MISSION IN MOTION” — A STIRRING MARCH OF MUD, SWEAT, AND PURPOSE 🥾No Curtain. No Stage. Just 227 Miles of Determination. It’s rare that a piece of real-world theatre marches its way so unapologetically into the spotlight, but Footy Legends: Mission in Motion does just that — a powerful, pavement-pounding performance that transcends sport and speaks directly to the soul.Three men — Mark, Tom, and Andy — don’t just walk. They stride through story and sacrifice, tracing 227 miles from the rugged beginnings of Land’s End to the welcoming arms of Somerdale Pavilion. But this is no mere stroll. It’s an eight-day odyssey across towns, terrains, and the very limits of the human spirit.Their show? To rally support for Children's Hospice South West and inspire the next generation of players at Fry Club Juniors. There are no medals waiting at the end, no roaring crowds in stadium seats — and yet, the emotional payoff rivals any Broadway climax. The stakes? Deeply human. The villains? Fatigue, pain, and doubt. The heroes? Ordinary men with extraordinary heart. This isn’t theatre that asks for applause — it earns it, one blistered mile at a time. As they press forward, they carry the hopes of children, families, and communities who believe in something bigger than the scoreboard. Every footstep is an act of defiance against complacency; every stretch of road, a line in a powerful, unscripted monologue.🌟 Standout Moment: The silence between towns, where nothing is heard but breath and purpose. That’s where the real drama lives — not in spectacle, but in sincerity. The energy is raw, the purpose is pure, and the storytelling? Unmistakably moving. There are no props here but walking boots. No choreography but the rhythm of resolve. It’s not about football — it’s about why football matters, and how a game can echo far beyond the pitch. So don’t just watch from the wings.Support the show. Share the cause. Step into the story: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/andrew-glover-2Because Footy Legends isn’t just a walk. It’s a journey of hope.A march for tomorrow. And the most important performance of their lives.🎟️ Fuel the cause.
