So Mark and I felt that we had to attempt 30 miles as we were getting closer to the Walk and as yet we hadn't done it. We met at Somerdale Pavilion early on Good Friday and set off for Bitton Railway Station and then into Bristol on the Cycle Path. It's a route which I had travelled before going the other way, but for Mark this was a first and the time flew by as we chatted, mainly about football and our Club.

Pretty soon we had reached Trinity Road and so we turned around and headed for Bath. You wouldn't know it from the photo, as again, Mark is his usual camera shy self! And so we started the long climb back up to Staple hill, through the tunnel and down to Bitton.

As we headed down towards Bitton Railway Station, my legs were really aching and I could feel blisters as this was now the furthest which i had walked, and so I made the decision to turn off and head back. By the time I reach Somerdale Pavilion my legs were in bits, but I was really pleased to have made 20 miles, my furthest yet!

Mark however was determined to carry on, and powered through as far as he could towards Bath within the time that he had before a meeting he needed to attend, and did amazingly well, although was obviously disappointed not have quite reached the 30 miles.
