Sunday 8th June - Day 2

Published on 8 June 2025 at 18:00

After a slightly painful night sleep, we set out the next morning at 5:30 from our hotel in Camborne and headed into Redruth and on towards St Austell. We made good progress through Redruth which was right next to us and emerged from Redruth, heading out into the countryside and down into Truro just as it was waking up.

Stopped for a bit of sustenance and then up the hill and out into the country. At this point we realised that the route was very car heavy and made a decision to reroute onto B roads and back lanes taking us south around the coast up into St Austell. The problem with that was 2 miles from St Austell we came to the bottom of Pentewan Hill, an 80 metre high hill with parts at a one in five gradient!

But we toiled up and 2 miles later we were met by Beth at Little Harbour, the first hospice and that was day two with the hospice the reason we were doing this.
