Saturday 14th - Day 8

Published on 14 June 2025 at 18:00

So this was it! The last Day! The final 30! We actually started on the front at W-S-M and an opportunity to get opening proof that Mark was wearing a Man Utd shirt, something that would get £400 towards our total if we both did on the final day...

Then we were off up to Charlton Farm, the final Hospice,  As we were to be met by a few others within our Club, Andy wandered down to the Hospice whilst everyone else gathered at the top of the road, over half a mile back.  He was given a track winner's welcome... and a medal from the Hospice as thanks and congratulation (all three walker's received one).

After which Andy had his first "proof of shirt" photo taken!

We then made our way across the fields of Leigh Woods toward the Clifton Suspension Bridge for a joint "proof of shirt" photo.

After that it was a quick Bridge selfie with the rest of the entourage who had joined us.

Finally we made our way across Bristol and in to Somerdale Pavilion, arriving just after 4:00pm on the Saturday, eight days after setting out from Land's End.

And that was the end of it! Eight days and 227 miles later we had walked between the three of us the distance from Land's End to Somerdale Pavilion and visited all three of the Children's Hospice South West locations.  They were the real reason for this effort, and, and drove us on when we were tired and sore.
